My lovely daughter is unfortunately looking at spending the summer in a leg brace and crutches.

She seems a little self conscious about the brace as it's not a "trendy" cast you can write on it's a metal cage.

So I'm looking for long skirts or dresses or possibly baggy trousers like harem style that will cover it up please

She is 9 but tall so ideally 10-11-12 many thanks mamas!

I shall get my 2 to look stuff out. Poor kid. I would also suggest a wheelchair as crutches are hard work.

Thanks mama.et me know what you have and prices etc. Also any short pyjamas or nightdresses I forgot to say.

She's actually coping well so far with the crutches but has blisters on her hands. We are thinking of getting a wheelchair when we go for big days out. Poor girl was so excited about a summer full of football and general being active and outdoors. They have said she can still swim though if she removes the brace so that's good

I forgot to ask, what happened? She has my sympathies as I’ve been on crutches for 10 months now.

Weightlifting gloves? You can pick the up from decathlon or sports direct.

Tears here. Uurrgh this is hard. She isn't liking the attention, questions and offers of help that the brace and crutches bring. She says "I just want to be normal"

E has found some stuff that may suit. No maxi stuff (useless for cartwheels!) but I’m happy to pop it in the post for you to look at. What doesn’t work please pass on.

Update....we have seen a specialist at a bigger hospital and basically she needs to exercise it more!! The other hospital had told us to rest and keep weight off it hence the crutches and brace but according to the specialist that's the opposite of what we should be doing. So she if off the crutches, no brace and is looking forward to the summer now!

We have also started a course if physio to regain strength in the knee
