Mother’s Milk Books is an independent press run solely by at-home mother-of-two, Teika Bellamy. The ambition of the press is to publish and produce beautiful books, cards and other gifts that normalize breastfeeding. ‘Musings on Mothering’, an anthology of art, poetry and prose, was the first title to be published by the press, and all royalties are being donated to the charity La Leche League GB. The book has met with critical acclaim and raised valuable funds for the charity whose sole aim is to provide information and support for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. The book can be bought online, or at ‘The Inner Bookshop’, Oxford, ‘ShopIndigo’, Oxford, ‘The Melton Bookshop’, Melton Mowbray, as well as ‘A Room Full of Butterflies’ and ‘The Little Emporibum’ in Nottingham.
Mother’s Milk Books is now producing breastfeeding-friendly greetings cards and art prints, so to celebrate all things mothering I’m giving away a pack of 10 mothering/new baby cards (usual retail price of £14) with free shipping included. The cards are of a high quality, measure 7″ x 5″, come with pure white envelopes and are blank inside for your own message. 10% of profits from the sales of the cards are being donated to LLLGB.
Along with the greetings cards the winner will also get one free entry to The Mother’s Milk Books Writing Prize. This competition is ideal for any creative mamas (or papas!) out there – or even children – who love to write. The theme of the writing competition is ‘parenting’ and the children’s poetry category is completely free to enter.
To enter the competition please reply below with the answer to the following question: What is the title of the first book published by Mother’s Milk Books?
Competition closes the 31st of October!
